Château La Fleur Calon is located in Montagne, on a site of remarkable beauty on the Calon hill, dominating the Saint-Emilion vineyards at 100m high. In the capable hands of the Gros family since 1927, the estate overlooks five magnificent windmills dating back to the 15th century. Today the windmills are no longer in use, though they continue to provide exceptional unrestricted views across the entire region.
A number of limestone quarries criss-cross the appellation, and the remains of one of these dating back to the 19th century can be found behind the Château. This advantageous terroir planted with old vines, is worked tirelessly by hand throughout the year, with many grape bunches sacrificed in the name of quality. Château La Fleur Calon is an exemplar of charm and delicatesse, in total synergy with its location.
